My dryer was burning clothes so I put in a new glide and rear bearing assbly. After reassembly I have a yellow L-shaped plastic piece left over and I can't find where it goes. There's a second one screwed into the back from the outside near the outlet vent. The one on there rests against the outer rim of the drum. Any clues where the second goes?

toss it, its shipping materials used to keep the drum from sliding forward during shipping

Shipping material that was screwed in? Odd. Should I unscrew the other one or just leave it?

I was thnking it'd be needed because upon reassembly the drum wobbles a bit and catches the back part and since the other one seems like a guide I figured that was the issue. I think the disc that is screwed onto the back of the drum is scraping the heater if that makes sense. The drum seems to wobble a bit so its a rhythmic scraping, rather than constant.

If that's not the cause I'm totally lost. :shock:

There should be a yellow piece touching the drum on the back or front. The piece you are referring to attaches to the center top rail and is held in with 1 screw. As stated previously it is not needed. If you still have scraping issues there is something else going on. Are the 3 screws that secure the bearing on the rear of the drum fully installed and the bearing flush on the drums surface?

the yellow hockey stick serves no function when the dryer is in normal use, it does however prevent the drum from dropping and possibly touching the element while the dryer front is being removed, or if the unit is used long after the front glides/seal have worn away
