It is a white wetinghouse model # WWX223RBW1. I want to remove the agitator so I can clean it (we are getting some odd stains on washed clothes).

cap on top of agitator unscrews, then you pull up on the agitator

if your stains are small brown or honey colored dots it is most likely oil leaking from the transmission
