I have an older Kenmore top-loading washer, with bleach and fabric softener dispensers under the lid. After a load of wash, the fabric softener dispenser -- I didn't use any fabric softener -- is filled with water. I emptied before the last load to see what would happen, and it was full again. What do you think is happening?

Fabric softener outlet nipple is probably gunked up. Try flushing some hot water down there.
