I've read the "Diagnosing transmission problems in a Whirlpool direct dirve..." http://fixitnow.com/wp/2006/03/16/diagnosing-transmission-problems-in-a-whirlpool-kenmore-top-loading-direct-drive-washer/ My clutch does spin. How do I know if I should check the clutch, the basket drive, or the tub drive block? And how do I know if it is one of those parts that is causing the problem. FYI- I already had a look at the drive coupler and it looked good.

Hello, my clutchy friend. It would be wise to check the drive block in any event since this is a common fail item. Our flatulent host has prepared a revised and expanded version of the page you linked with much more comprehensive diagnostic information and embedded videos. Would you like to see it? If I were an infidel swine, I would say, "I'll bet you would!" However, since I am an enlightened Muslim and gambling, along with all the other infidel vices, is prohibited, I will simply say, "Here you are, my friend." http://fixitnow.com/wp/2010/07/07/diagnosing-and-repairing-spin-and-agitate-problems-in-a-whirlpool-kenmore-direct-drive-washer/
