I have a Kenmore frontload, Model #41741142000 It would not drain or spin. I would appreciate helps in figuring out how to fix it. This is what I did trying to locate the problem: 1. I used a shopvac to suck the water out, it did and I collected a bucket full, including a rusty coin. I then set the dial to spin, it did spin fine, which confirmed that it did not spin because it was not draining, also should clear any blockage in the hose. 2. Now I set it to wash, the washer was filled with water, but at the draining stage, I saw no water coming out of the outlet hose. I took the front cover off, I can feel that the water pump housing is getting quite hot, and I can hear humming from the pump location. If I took the wire harness off, the humming stops. But I was not sure if the humming means that the pump motor was turning, or jammed. At this point I like to seek advice before start removing the pump or buying a new pump: do you think this seems like a water pump problem? If I do remove the pump, is there a way to test the pump? In any case, is it worth fixing a 9 year old washer, or is it time to get a new one? Thanks! Thanks for the reply kdog! I will definitely try what you suggested. Does the pump runs normal 110V AC? Is it possible to test the pump while it is out by connecting to 110V AC?

Following your suggestions I opened up the pump and sure enough, the motor was jammed by a pin and a key, once removed and hooked the rubber tubes backup, the machine drained fine, thanks! Maneuvering the spring clips back on was a pain though. Now that the machine was open, I noticed a new problem: when the machine spins, water drips down one side of the drum at the bottom, total about 1 cup over a wash. Only when it spins though. Any idea how to fix this?

most of the water seemed to flow down from the connection of one left shock absorber and the drum, some drops also from the bottom center of the drum, but since it was vibrating and I was looking from the front opening which is located at the front bottom, it was not easy to see. I can remove the back panel, but want to know if the back panel offer some structure support? I don't want the whole things to disintegrate during spinning with the back panel removed.

remove the top and lower access panel and test run - oughtta be able to eyeball the leak or at least narrow down the vicinity
