Frigidaire model LER331DS0 dryer not heating. Manufactured 10/04. The back of the dryer is spot welded on, I could not remove. I popped the top off, and was able to check the thermal fuse and thermostat with a multimeter, they checked good (both showed continuity). When I checked them with the power on, they were getting voltage. So I think the problem may be a bad heating element, but since I could not take the welded on back off, I could not get to it, I could see it down in there from the top but I don't know how to get to it. I am suprised they started welding the backs on, how stupid. If I ever buy a dryer, I will look at the back and make sure it is screwed on not welded.

the back is welded cause that machine is all front servicable, we techs prefer them this way, once you know how to get in its alot easier than pulling out the machine and crawling behind with the top tilted up look on the inside of the front panel, there is a screw on either side a few inches down, you remove these 2 screws and the front panel will pull away(there are 2 clips on the bottom that you have to lift the front off of) there is also a lil plastic thingy dead center infront of the drum, you remove this too you then reach in and detach the belt from the idler and motor, after that the drum lifts up one inch to release the drum bearing from its reciever(its kinda like a trailer hitch), then the drum pulls out of the front of the machine once you know how its done this takes only a few minutes and you never have to move the machine or disconnect the vent
