Am stumped - I've read online that it could be lint blockage in the vent/ductwork (have checked it all and inside the dryer and it's clean), could be a thermal fuse (how and where is this accessible??), could be the heating element or the thermostat or the timer motor. Cracking open the front and back (through access panels) provides no clues and the Owner's Manual points to troubleshooting culprits such as house fuses (which there is only 1 for W/D and it's fine), gas supply valve is closed (it's not), utility interruption (not that either). ANY suggestions? Don't want to call a service tech, but am feeling helpless.

Does it heat at all ? Does the Ignitor glow at all ? may be able to be seen with bottom front panel removed. Most other items accesible after removing top and front. GLGH1642DS1 Parts List & Diagrams

We removed the front panel and saw nothing that looked like it ignited. Had to break down and have a repairman come who took off the front panel, then had to remove another panel and some connections to get at the "blown ignitor". Replaced and fixed for $189. Ouch. At least we have our dryer back. Thanks.
