I have a GE WCVH6800 14 months old.  When I turn on the power the door DOES NOT lock, the digital timer starts at 58 and the the drain pump runs for a couple minutes then times out and it shuts down. Apparently the error codes can't be accessed if the door does not lock.  Any ideas?

When I follow the steps "Press Signal - Delay - Signal - Delay" after plugging it in I either get nothing OR the drain pump starts running again for a couple minutes then shuts off.

According to the documentation in the washer it's the same to enter and exit the "Service Mode"...Signal-Delay_Signal-Delay.  Do you have another way?

Don

I was thinking it could be a water sensor somewhere and the tub doesn't know it's empty?

do you know if there is a way to short any combination of the electrical lines to tell the machine that the tube is empty so I could test the theroy before I bought a new sensor? Also I'm assuming their is some type of sensor in the tub or pump to tell the electronics that the tub is empty..is that true and could that be the fault?
