all 3 timer numbers were exactly the same. now, power surge....you might be onto something. I noticed this morning the dryer was on with the timer moving backwards, when my wife turned the stove on in the other room, there was a surge or flicker of the lights throughout the entire home that i did notice. note: the stove/oven and dryer are on different breakers.

The numbers on the MOTOR on the timer are the same??? WHY did you change the timer in the first place????? Is there an air fluff or no heat cycle?? if there, is does the timer run backwards in that cycle??

Just to let everyone know, the problem is solved. THE BUZZER was the problem! I'm just leaving the buzzer disconnected Thanks everyone for the help. Now you all know in case someone else has the same problem!

I didn't test the buzzer. I never suspected it to be the cause. A local appliance parts store told me to disconnect it and see what happends. So I did, and it worked.

Buzzer shouldn't have anything to do with it.. even if it was shorted ..

I removed the electronic control board. Yes, it works fine now! It is for the "auto" cycle. However, it was messing up all of the cycles.

So now the auto cycle is disabled, and you are left with timed cycles only ?

fascinating...you 'd prolly need the failed board to reproduce the problem. definitely one for the books...this will really help someone else, sometime if this happens again. i get the impression not many of us have seen this first hand in the field kdog, you must have been burned on that "i checked the power and it's fine" routine one too many times, like me. i NEVER believe it until l i see it myself Last edited on Thu Oct 28th, 2010 12:52 am by KurtiusInterupptus ____________________ As every cockroach knows , thriving on poisons is the secret of success. |

I make a habit of always checking circuits for polarity/ground etc (have a small indicatore that simply need be plugged in) as that seems to be the first requirement in practically every piece of accompanying literature that I have ever seen. If incorrect, no telling what can arise This dryer somehow had a failed board influence the direction of a theoretically uni-directional motor - i would be interested to know if reverse polarity played a part in this Last edited on Thu Oct 28th, 2010 05:30 am by kdog ____________________ Can Ye spare some 'cutter me brutha ? http://web.me.com/zenzoidman/kdog/ |
