My dryer will not turn itself off when it is drying in the AUTO SENSING MODE, but it will shut off in the timed mode and the air dry mode. What can I do to fix this myself?

may be dirty Sensor,

or a bad Sensor Control

Also be sure to ohm out the cycling thermostat. If it's stuck closed it will not allow the timer motor to advance. Check with your ohmmeter, should be open at room temperature. Be sure to remove at least one wire from the thermostat before testing. And of course, unplug the dryer before even beginning disassembly.
