Purchased an He3t in 2006, it has not been too bad, but we just started getting the dreaded F06 error.  Spent the day researching the F06 error.

The general consensus is that after you have tested everything, re-seated the connections, the problem will be either the Motor Control Unit, or the Motor.

Tested the Motor, 6 ohms on wires 1,2,3.  Looked over the MCU, looks good.  Checked the tach, got 0 to infinity.

Other Trouble Shooting:
Ran the diagnostics, it went fineC0 - C8:  (No error)
On step C:05 it took over 15 minutes.  I just cancelled this one out to move on.

Ran the machine on normal wash, without any clothes:  (No F06 Error)
Ran the machine with just a soccer uniform:  (No F06 Error)
Run the machine with a normal load:  F06 Error anywhere from 3 - 15 minutes into the wash.

After the F06 error, we can hit cancel, then do a Rinse and Spin.

Every time I try just a normal wash, I get the F06 error.

Any thoughts of the problem?   MCU or Motor?

There must be some company out there someplace refurbishing all the zillions of bad MCUs  (where are they, we need some good ones).

Thanks for your help

One Correction:
The load we just did with just a soccer uniform failed with 12 minutes left to go.
The dreaded F06 came on just to spite me!

Sorry, that would help and I just saw it in the 10 commandments.
Model:  45972 404
Type:  199 - 711WT-GT

Note:  "Drain and Spin" is now failing after about 2 minutes (with just a soccer uniform).  So basically everything is failing with the F06 code.   Ug it is getting worse.

Thanks

9.  Thou shalt not omit the three digit number to the left of the decimal point in the model number for a Kenmore appliance.

the first (3) digits specify the manufacturer ..

Thanks for the link to the tech sheets.
I do have it from the inside of the washer.

The big question is the best way to determine if the the problem creating the F06 error is with the MCU or the tach on the Motor:

I have tried the trouble shooting, testing with a digital volt meter.
Any other thought to narrow down the offending component?

Between pins 1,2 and 3 youshould have about 6.5 ohms on the motor, pins 4 and 5 which are the tac you should have around 117

Solution for F06 error on Kenmore Elite He36t

Problem was the MCU.

I received a new motor and MCU from the Repair Clinic.
Installed the new motor:
Did a rinse and spin (no error)
Did a normal wash (F06 Error)

Installed the new MCU:
Did a normal wash (no error)

Re-installed my original motor:
Did a normal wash (no error)
Did a few more washes (no error)

Both new and original motors checked out at about 6.5 ohms and 117 ohms.

Thank you everyone for your help.
