The agitator has a screw shaped upper section and a lower section. The upper, screw section no longer turns when it is supposed to during the proper cycle and in fact if you grab it you can turn it independently of what the lower section of the agitator is doing. In other words, I can grab the upper section of the agitator and spin it in either direction like it's no longer attaced to the rest of the agitator. Thanks for the assistance.

Great, that problem is solved but I have one more on the same machine. The water doesn't spin the water out like it used to. It takes two spin cycles to get the water out of the clothes. Any suggestions? Thanks
