I am replacing the timer in my Kenmore 70 Series washer.  How do I gain access to the timer?  I see two obvious screws to remove, but after they are removed, then what?  Thank you....

You need to remove the plastic end caps from the console which will reveal 2 screws in the lower corners, once those are out, the console hinges outward and up from the bottom - the rest is a no-brainer

For the side covers, yes.
Pull from the top and they come right off.
