Our Frigidaire washer doesn't seem to want to spin at the end of cycles. I have removed the water pump and checked it for obstructions. None found but it does se kinda herky-jerky when you rotate the impeller. It does spin when it is installed but it seems noisier than I remember. I have removed the back from the machine and I notice that the drum will twitch or rock slighly once in a while but it doesn't spin. The belt isn't slipping. When I advance the timer to the end of the final spin cycle, the pump runs and runs (noisily) but no spinning of the drum. It's door lock seems to have stuck a couple of times but rotating the timer fixed that. I also noticed that sometimes when I advance the timer completely to the end, the chime rings for a LONG time. These symptoms occured about a month ago but when I got into the back of the machine and tapped on the speed control, everything started working again. Needless to say this didn't work this time. Please help. Thanks

so if you fill the machine with water and turn the timer to spin have you lifted the drain hose and visualized if the water is actually pumping out?

No... I only removed the pump, inspected it, Plugged it back in, and observed it spinning noisly when the timer is turned to the right position. I only got about 1/2 a quart of water out when I removed the pump so I assumed... oh yea... don't assume... I'll try what you suggested...BRB

sounding like you have a few issues...in your earlier post you said at one time you had tapped on the speed control board and the machine then worked for a while? if so check the connections on the board closely.

Light comes on and goes off after cycle. Door does seem to delay in releasing sometimes but eventually does. Going to work right for now but I will check back in when I get home. Thanks for the help and I hope to see more later.

Really? I was ready to replace the speed control! What is the difference between the two wax motors and will either one work for me?
