Just to end this thread on a happy note , I gave the slot head screw 2-3 turns that is at the base of the fuse holder, of course with main off and the dryer is functioning perfectly. I would like to thank exsearsguy, willie and samurai for all your invaluable help! I couldn't have done it without your help. It's satisfying to know anyone can accomplish appliance repair with a little know how and this amazing network of help. Life has returned to normal - for the moment. Cheers Guys!

Congratulations,my (I assume) non-permed friend! I always thought you had a screw loose! Just as an aside, now that you know that you won't get fried,you might want to check all the screws in your fusebox.If you have one loose you probably have more than one loose! If I go on a service call and tighten one,I make a project of it.

What can I do next? you should not be protecting the 30a circuit with a 20a fuse- your test proved that under full load conditions,your dryer draws in excess of 22a; therefore it is just a matter of time until the fuse(breaker) will open as it is designed to do- if you are in canada,i much doubt you have fuses unless your wiring system is ancient,as breakers are and have been code for many years. secondly,if you have a 20amp circuit,you may not have the adequate sized wire-sounds like you oughtta have a licensed electrician have a boo at it.

Hello My name is Carol, And, I am my family's repair person. I am in the middle of rebuiding the dryer. and puting on the motor. In doing so the wires came off be for I could mark them. And I am not sure which one goes where I have been trying to find a wire guide in color. But finding hard. And just for a few wires I hate to have to buy a manual. Being on a fixed income Can you help Thank you Carol Sine model# 86873100 Kenmore dryer
