I am getting the dreaded F70 code on my washer. I have changed the CCU twice, and changed the R/H User interface with all new parts. Still get F70 and only clicks on the power on button. I checked continuity of the harness between the CCU and Interface and tested ok. I have seen other posts with the same problem with no solution. Anybody know?????? Thanks, Phil

Is the Drum moving ? "Possible Causes/Procedure 3. Replace User Interface if drum is rotating. 4. Replace Central Control Unit if drum is not moving."

The drum is not rotating, only a click on the power button when pressed. That is all this machine does. Replaced the CCU twice with brand new boards, no change. What's next??? Thanks, Phil

Yes, I am able to run the diagnostic test and after that cycles through, I still get a flashing F70 which is the same result I got before changing the CCU and the R/H User Interface board. I have not changed the left user interface board because the tech sheet says to change the user interface boards when the drum spins. My drum doesn't spin so I changed the CCU twice. I am thinking about changing the harness next between the CCU and the interface even though it shows continuity terminal to terminal when removed.

The harnesses themselves rarely go bad internally, usually it a problem where they connect...make sure the connections are good and tight

Unplug the mi3 connector in the ccu should be 3 wire connector if it comes on and locks u have a bad motor control
|

I disconnected M13 connector at CCU, and no change whatsoever. I ran the diagnostic check again and it still shows the flashing F70 code and no others. This had no effect. Still won't power up or spin or lock. Only thing that functions is the diagnostic checks. Thanks, Phil Swanson

I have no M3 connection on the CCU. I assume you are talking about the M13. I pulled that (again) as tested by a previous post, and still no change. Power button only chimes, no display on User Interface and diagnostic test still reveals flashing F70 with M13 pulled. No drum movement either. Basically dead in the water except power button chime and diagnostic check with M13 pulled or not. No change. What does this mean?

On your Motor Control board (Down in the bottom) you have a 3 blue wire harness. Pull that harness off and let it hang in the air. Close the door and power the unit up. If prior to removing the harness, your attempts yielded an immediate F70 or three quick beeps, and now with the harness off it acts like it is going to run, then you have a bad Motor Board. It will not run with the blue harness removed, but if it now programs and acts like it is going to run, your Motor Control is FUBAR.

I disconnected the plug mentioned above on the MCU but no change at all. Still will not power up and displays F70. This is electrically the same test I did earlier when I disconnected the same 3 wires at the CCU. Same result, no change and no power up of display. Only chime noise on power button and diagnostic check runs but that is all. Thanks, Phil Swanson

I would take every connector loose from the MCU and check each prong on the harness and the MCU

If no change with the mi3 disconnected and u changed the right interface already u have a bad ccu

pull interface cord out of ccu check dc voltage on pins 3 and 8 should be around 12 or 13 volts coming out of ccu if good u gettin power to ccu

I fixed the F70 problem by tightening the terminal contacts with tweezers on the connections from the CCU going to the interface and it powered up right away. Started up with water flow but still wouldn't move tub. Now I get a F28 error code. What a pain these machine are. Now I know why the previous owner sold it to me for 150 bucks! Never buy a Whirlpool Duet!! Ripoff city and junk electronics. Give me a good old tough manual/mechanical toploader anytime. I think the computers on these are made by Toyota!! Thanks, Phil Swanson
