We received one of these in with the lid lock and bezel busted to pieces. I don't even ask how this stuff happens anymore... Anywho, we put in the new bezel and lid lock assembly. The unit started throwing a lid lock error as soon as it was plugged in. Since I had ordered several of these locks for the shop, I tried another just to see if I had a bad lock motor. No dice, same problem. It gives a DU code (lid unlock failure) but the lock tab is already retracted. You can pull it out manually, power the unit up, the tab retracts and the unit throws DU again. I'm halfway wondering if the original lock was busted because the lid wouldn't unlock. There's no damage to the lid itself to indicate it has been pried or forced open but at this point I'm thinking the board may have gone catty-wampus. I figured I'd better ask the WPL gurus on this one. Thanks!

OK, a little update. First off, thanks! It appears the board went kaput and left the lid locked so either the renter or the store broke it open. Finally got approval from the store to replace the board which we did yesterday. And it still doesn't work right... The lid locked and unlocked properly, it filled normally (tested on Quick Wash) then around 29 min remaining it drained and gave the "oL/F 51" code. All of these I've had come in for that have been overloaded and clothes have gotten between the tubs. Pulled out a bunch of clothes, put it back together, same song and dance. Went to pull the tub following the repair manual instructions to see if there's spomething wrapped up under the tub. Removed the impeller and got to the part where all the manual says is "Lift the basket out of the washer". As Bill Cosby always said: Riiiiiight.... While digging around the WPL tech site to see if I was missing a step I ran across a note saying there was a new board that is not as sensitive to the RPS. I compared the part number to the one I had on hand and sure enough I have the old one. Of course, like the knothead I can be, I didn't write down the new number and I can't find it this morning. So, does have the new board number offhand and an idea to break the tub loose short of a monkey wrench and a 12 gauge? I know how rough I can get with the GE and Frigidaire units, I don't with the WPL stuff. EDIT/UPDATE: Found the part number! W10130544 Last edited on Wed Apr 7th, 2010 04:16 pm by awp101 |

Disregard the update, that part number subs to W10189966 which is already what I have. Back to square one, I suppose it could be the RPS but the failure only occurs during use NOT during the diagnostic testing.

RegUS_PatOff wrote: Cabrio Washer 15 MB Thanks, that's the one I already have. The tub bearing is stuck solid on the shaft so I'm just going to have to fiddle with it.
