- I have a Whirlpool Duet Front Load Washer- Model GHW 9200 LW

- Machine was found stopped during spin cycle - attemped to restart spin cycle but would not turn

- Checked motor and belt - OK - each phase of motor 6.2 ohms

- When diagnostic test is run, everything works except the drum/motor never turns

- Checked all harnesses (MPU and CPU) - all seem connected well

- Checked safety grounding switch for the motor - OK

- NO ERROR CODES after diagnostic or when the a cycle is attempted (eg. spin/drain)

Is there a common problem or good thing to check  - or do I need some diagnostic tools only tech would have ( I have read the service manual)

Thanks

See if you're getting 120vac at the MCU line terminal (L) when in spin mode. If so, then you have a bad MCU. If not, then look a the main switch on the door latch assembly.

Voltage to MCU from CPU was ~ 120VAC

Voltage at motor was ~6V, 6V, 14V

Bad MCU?

Still no error codes, however

Will look at replacing the MCU

Thanks

Hard to measure the voltage at the motor because it's a pulsed DC voltage, can be as high as 300vdc.

Just to be doubly-woubly sure, check out those main switches on the door latch assembly.

I'll be sure to do that before I order a replacement  - not exactly sure which wires to check but I will figure it out- I believe the switch works becuase I can't get any sequence to work with the door open. When I shut the door everything else works except the motot does not turn - will let you know the results

Thanks again
