Huh?
|
the panel shut off 10 minutes after we plugged in our "new" (second hand) range in. want to know if there is anything we can try before tracking down a replacement panel (or oven for that matter). stove top works fine since it is not controlled by the panel. we are very new to large appliance ownership so it is possible that i am missing some vital information in this query, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much. Looks like a new controller will cost us about the same as the used range did. At least we don't have to move the sucker again.

After the panel "shuts down", does it come back to life if you push a button? They have a feature on these Frigidaire built ranges where you can turn off the clock display, (after not touching any controls for a set period of time display goes out), I'm not sure if it blanks the display while cooking when in this mode. If the panel display comes back to life when you push a button then try this, push and hold the clock button for 15 seconds, when you here a beep let up on the button. Now if it was in the "Blank time of day" mode it should be back to normal, (clock and display always on). If after the display shuts down it won't come back except by unplugging range and plugging back in then most likely a ERC, (Electronic Range Control/computer), problem.
