Bosch Axxis vented dryer (WTA3510UC/13) was purchased used recently.  When running, it makes an unacceptably loud buzzing noise.  Otherwise, it tumbles, heats and blows (I presume that's what the seller meant when he said that it had no problems).
When I disconnect the drum belt, the buzzing continues.
I think that this is all the pertinent information I have, other than the fact that a new motor is pricey.

Humbly, I ask the clan for any insights or suggestions.  I am happy to do further investigation if it would help.

Got to figure out if the noise is a metal on metal ie; vibrating together or is it a component ?

It doesn't sound to me like something loose that is vibrating, if that is what you mean.
On further review, I'd call the noise a growl. It is worse when the motor spins one way rather than the other. At it's worst, the noise changes to a "wahwahwahwah". That doesn't seem to happen with a load in the drum, though.
Make any sense?
Thanks for the reply.

While the Belt is removed, turn the Motor Shaft ...

Does it turn easily, smoothly ?

The motor shaft turns smoothly and easily. But, there is a bit of 'backlash' in the motor. It feels like I can turn the shaft a very small amount before it turns the rest of the motor. That little bit of play feels strange (it isn't side-to-side play, though).
This dryer runs for a short period and then pauses and changes direction. I'd never seen this before but assumed that it was normal operation for this machine. Maybe not....
