All, About 6 months ago our Asko W620 started clicking...like a baseball card in your bike spokes. I was certain there was something stuck between the two drums. But with no way to really check I decided it wasn't too bad really...so we lived with it. Recently I took the whole thing apart (save for the drums) trying to figure out a pump problem (turned out the little paddles in the pump were all but worn away...not paddles...no pumpy. New pump assembly fixed that.) Anyway...I took the drum paddles out and was able to do a relatively thorough check and there seemed to be nothing between the drums....so I put it all back together and it went back to clicking as 'usual'. Now however within the last week the clicking has gotten louder, and I am getting ready to order those special tools to take the drums apart and see what the deal is. But before I do that...I have read that this clicky-clack racket could be the brushes in the motor needing to be replaced. But the clicking is like plastic on metal though and I am not 100% sure it "sounds like motor brushes"...ya know? I would greatly appreciate any help before I really-really take this washer all the way apart. I have the service manuals and such and I have no real fear of taking it apart, just looking for little guidance to save me some time and perhaps some aggravation...though this washer and dryer have given me pause to rethink my idea of aggravation... Thank you in advance. Drew

Oops, this one slipped by, domo for the bump. If the clickety-clack originated from the motor brushes, I think you'd have other problems, too, like motor no workee. But, easy enough to pop the brushes out see how much graphite is left. More likely causes for noise are the drum rollers and idler pulley. When you flick 'em, they should spin freely without chattering.

D'OH! I hate when I do that! Thinking of both at the same time in the same post! To revise what I said earlier: motor or drum bearings could be on the way out. Sounds like you eliminated everything else.
