Sorry I don't have a model #, but it's basic kenmore model. Washer stops, but will re-start when lid is opened & closed. Is this the transmission?

Thanks. I'll try it in a couple of days after I return from a trip. I will let you know the outcome.

Eureka!! It was the lid switch. It was working intermittently and replacing it fixed the problem! Thanks for your help.
