I have a Kenmore(Whirlpool)110.60612990 .  The timer does not advance in either the Automatic Cotton or Automatic Permanent Press cycles but works OK in the Timed Dry, Air Dry, and Gentle(Knit) modes.   Some questions:

Is this model "my pappy's dryer" with a 120VAC motor in the timer?

Does it have a wet clothes/moisture sensor? A thermistor?

Can I spray an electronic cleaner into the timer?  Safely?  Effectively?  :D

I'm guessing that I need to replace the timer.

Thanks in advance!

Tom

In the Automatic cycles, the Timer Motor only runs when the Dryer reaches temperature.

Check the Dryer Vent output temperature.

With an empty load, Timed Dry, High Heat, the vent temperature should cycle somewhere between 135F and 160F
