I should probably be demoted to Grasshoppah for even asking this question.  I went out on a Bosch washer today that left water filled to the Max line in the softener side of the Softener/Bleach Dispenser.

I took out the tray and made sure everything was clean.  I ran the cycles and everything seemed ok.  I cleaned out the pump filter.  Is this just part of the cycle?  It just leaves water in the softener side after every wash?  What am I missing?

Is it empty right after the cycle completes or will the water appear in the dispenser after the washer has sat idle for a while?

If the latter, then one of the inlet valves is probably leaking.

After the cycle completes, the softener side is filled exactly to the max line with water.  She says she pours out the water, but after each load, there's the water again.  Filled to the max line on the softener side of the tray.

Now, she will sometimes use bleach.  (Which is a divided part of the same tray I'm talking about)  At the end of the cycle, the bleach side is empty.  But, the softener side still has water in it.  ????  I took the tray out to clean it, but it's clean.  I checked the water inlet ports inside the dispenser, it's spotless.

I just don't understand how the bleach side will empty, but the softener side of the same tray does not.
