Hello, I am not sure which machine you are referring to...according to the instructions that came with the FP GWL10, one MUST remove the agitator and the spline drive screws in order for the basket to be lifted from the tub. There is no "wingnut," to remove here. There is a wing-type large screw which screws agitator to basket. Nevertheless this is a mute point now. the basket has been removed...you are welcome to read my above and following separate posts. FYI: Kdog's suggestion of using some WD-40 did the trick...more specifically, my hubbie sprayed a very small bit on his fingers and simply rubbed it in around the shaft at the bottom of the basket...after a few day, Wallah! Basket came out without a problem!! Take care...
