Water mysteriously appears inside washing machine.  How do you detect the problem on this front load washer?

As with any washer/dishwasher, etc, if it fills when it is off and with the unit unplugged, you have a fill valve that is not closing all of the way...unplug the washer and see if it still fills with water, if so replace the fill valve...

Is the way to test by turning off one of the valves?

Thanks!
