I am replacing a 6 year old Kenmore / Frigidaire 42042 front loader.  It is installed under a countertop that I would rather not change if I dont have to.  This Kenmore model is quite shallow at 27.5 inches deep and only 36 inches high.  Therefore I cannot cram a standard DUET in that space (too tall and deep) but the Duet Sport model will fit OK.

I understand these "Duet Sport" models are not the same as the larger Duet models.  But are the Sport models still a reasonably good quality machine - one you would recommend I buy?  I could just get another Kenmore like I have but that one seems to be poorly regarded.
Thanks

The sport is made in Mexico, it is not the full sized Duet made in Germany, that said I would get the Sport rather than another Frigidaire, the bugs should be mostly worked out of the Sports by now, just be sure to get the extended warranty..

the duet sport vibrates more than any other front loader and has mexican control boards that like to give out.

will the 3.5 ft^3 frigidiare with the gray door boot fit? its much better than the 3.1 ft^3 with the black boot

OK - now I am really in the market for this new FL washer.  The old one is kaput.

It has to fit under a 36" counter top so that eliminates Stabler and Duet leaving the Duet Sport and Frigidaire.  I now figure the Frigidaire will fit too (depth was an issue) so I wonder:  Duet SPORT vs Frigidaire 3.5 vs  perhaps another brand???  I figure I will give up on the kenmore/frigidaire I have now: 417.42042100

Thanks!

Sport model has a shinny new kit out - supposed to help with noise , etc. Here in the great frozen north the part # is W1025202 and a softer bellows #W10181962 . Also , when top removed you see only 1 brace - order another and use holes already there.Never used a kit yet but sure I will - darn noisy units!!!!!
