I clean houses and have a couple different clients with washers that do not filter lint. One has a Amana model #LW8303W2 and the other has a Speed Queen model #AWM392W. After the wash cycle is completed, there is lint sticking to clothes and the sides of the barrel. I usually have to take a rag and wipe out the barrel after each wash. The lint is not always removed after drying either. My personal washer has a lint filter that I clean after each wash, and I thought all washers had a lint filter, but I can't find one on either of these washers. Can you tell me if they should have one, and if not, is there anything I can do to get rid of the lint? Thanks for your help.

The causes of lint complaints are:overloading,ie; clothes to water ratio not allowing lint to stay in suspension and leave with the wash water, overagitation, too much wash time. 8-10 minutes is usually plenty especially with whirlpool/kenmore t/l. Cold water wash, the cold water does not allow the lint to go into suspension. You dont wash your hands in cold water, why not?? Too much or too little detergent depending on the condition of water in your area. Improper sorting, seperating lint givers from lint takers,cottons from polyesters and the like. Long answer short: back the loads down, use warm water, take the navy blue polyester stretch slacks away from the grey cotton sweatshirt,mop heads or whatever, and sin no more...good luck!

Lots of a/w here in the great frozen north have no lint filter . The idea is with proper loads and water , the lint will scoopy doo down the drain. Famous last words I know , but our Kenmore has no filter and we have no lint.
