I have an Asko W620 washing machine from year 2000 that is showing error code S. The manual says that it is a mechanical problem. I checked the belt from the motor to the drum and that is working. I do not have equipment to test any of the electric parts, etc. The machine will drain, but if I run a program it stalls and makes a humming noise and no action. Any suggestions why this is happening? Thanks, Lars Nowack Last edited on Sun Oct 12th, 2008 11:23 pm by lnowack |

Hello, my erroneous friend. This fault code usually indicates a problem with either the motor or the water level sensor. Tell me: does the tub tumble at all? If not, you may need to simply replace the carbon brushes in the motor.

Oh wise Ayatollah, the machine does not agitate either. It will start a wash program, fill with water and then sit, then drain and go to error code S again. How do I replace the brushes on the motor? and where can I buy the brushes Lars Last edited on Tue Oct 14th, 2008 02:43 am by lnowack |

Hello, my unbrushed friend. This procedure is very similar to the Frigidaire-built washing machine motors. Our besotted host has prepared a page with more information. Would you like to see it? Alright, it is here.

Oh wise one, it turns out the brushes are a slightly different parts #, there was another older closed strand here on the website, where somebody had the same problem with the same washer as me. He sent me the parts #, I ordered it from Asko and I installed them today and the washer is up and running again. Thank you for your advice, this site is an excellent resource. Now brushed and clean.
