LIke other posts I've read, this monstrosity won't drain or spin.  (I guess I should be grateful that it's worked so far...especially since Canadian Thanksgiving is on Monday!)  The water fills with no problem, and will agitate, but stops completely at the point that it should drain.  Other posts seem to indicate that it could be the lid switch, but your diagrams don't work for my "special" unit >:(  So, I can't seem to get to the lid switch.  HELP!!!

the only identifying number I can see is the MFG number which I put in the subject line.  I found the mfg. tag on the back panel of the unit, but technically the half which is the washing machine.  There is also a serial number:  C80501035

OK, I just opened up the dryer (front loading), and it says "Sears Canada, model 8109000Z"  Of course, I don't know if that's for the dryer only or what...

if this is a old belt drive kenmore top loader you use a putty knife between the front panel and top panel to release the 2 clips so that the top will lift up.
