I have a Maytag Neptune stack able washer/dryer. I purchased it used and of course bad mistake. The dryer has a strange teeth winding sound then shuts down.
I am out for a new drive motor and rollers in the back. Now same thing all over again with all new items the moment we start it.
After about 20 minutes it will start again and then shuts down again.
Help me I cant afford to put any more in this. What else can it be? Dryer model is MUE2000AYW  Stacked Model is MLE2000AYW.
 Help me please.

We have taken everything off the dryer and just let the motor run by itself and it doesn't make the sound but the motor shuts down the same. Noe fan, no belt, no nothing is attached to the motor and it still shuts down. After a very few seconds.  It a new motor and I know the other one is just as good. NOW WHAT
PLEASE

The Motor shuts down ?

How's the Blower Wheel ?

When testing, the Dryer should be set for "No Heat"

You may have to check some voltages on the Motor ...

There is nothing attached to the motor at all and it still does it.
It s 220  w/d but the motor is 110. so there is only one plug. the motor is what came with it when it was sold new so how can a wrong motor be in it.

What can you do about the voltages.  Its got it own plug and breaker. 30 AMP.All by it self. Acts like it is getting to much voltages maybe?
thanks so much  we are stiil working on it at this time

Check the voltage at the grey wire at the Motor.

I will check that but it has happened on two different motors. So it would have to be bad on both and I don't think that is the case do you?

You don't have time to check it before it shuts off.
