KUDS25SHBL1 Kitchenaid Superba undercounter dishwasher

Help! I went to empty the dishwasher and the handle seemed to be flapping around on the inside of the front panel and now the door is stuck closed with all of our dishes inside. Big dinner tonight, so if anyone can help me get the door open, I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, i suspect i will need to order a new latch system, so any help with the parts i will need as well as removal/installation would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply...the handle (embedded under the control panel) appears to be broken. It's floating around loose inside the small compartment behind the panel.

Before my plea for help, I removed the kick plate and front panel cover and small pieces of plastic fell out. I can see the handle and it appears to be out of its cradle (or whatever holds it). However, I'm afraid to be poking around inside there as i see some circuit panels and other stuff up there that i don't care to mess with.

I tried following the instructions that you posted, but to no avail. I can feel some resistance when i turn the allen wrench down, but there does not seem to be any give. Looking at the control panel on the diagram, it looks different than mine...could there be different instructions for my model?

thanks again for the help...i think we may be eating on our best chinet tonight

SUCCESS!!! Some poking around (after shutting off the power) finally helped. I managed to move the broken handle assmbly away and looking up into the space, there is a gray plastic bracket...pushing upwards with a flathead screwdriver opened the door immediately.

Now, i need to figure out what parts I need to be replacing. Do I need to remove the control panel console to get access to the door handle assmbly?
