I have a Maytag top load washer, model SAV4655EWW. The washer will not spin during the spin cycle even though it sounds like it is running and the timer moves.  This has come after my washer making a loud banging noise and moving a couple of inches each cycle for the past 3 months, which I could live with since it is in the basement.  I check the lid to see if that is still intact and I hear a clicking noise so I figure it is.  I have searched this forum extensively and even though “no spin” issues have surfaced often, it has not for this model.

Please let me know what other checks I can do for this to be properly diagnosed.  Thanks in advance for your time and help!

I took off the bottom front plate to see if I could see anything not in place and noticed the belt was off the pulley.  I placed it back on and ran a cycle and it came off again.  I am not sure if it is the pully or a stretched belt causing it to come off.  Any help would be appreciated.
