Well behaved dryer for 9 years, now it won't finish the job. All seems to work normally:
- set timer
- drum spins
- inginter glows
- gas vavle clicks
- fire
- runs for about 3-4 minutes
- fire goes off (seems like the valve is told to turn off)
- drum is still spinning
- vent hose is removed
I can operate a volt meter, just need some giudance on what to check for, or...
If the master already knows what to fix please let me know, because if mama ain't happy, nobody's happy.

First thing to check is the dryer vent to the outside, if it is blocked it turns the heat back off, take the vent hose off the dryer and re-try to see what it does then.....if it still does the same thing, lights and heats when just started from a cold start, but the igniter cycles back on and off but no ignition suspect bad coils on top of the gas valve...

Thanks Pegi,
I cleaned out the vent today to an almost new condition. I ran the dryer without the vent hose (dryer is in the garage) and had the same results. It runs good for a few minutes and then it will not fire back up. Today, I ran a test and it did turn on and off 3 times, after that it did not fire up.
Do you think the it is the valve coils? Maybe they fail after the machine warms up? Is it possible to check the coil while in operation? could it be one of the thermostats that is failing after things warm up?

the gas valve coils do go bad, and usually work until they warm up.
You could test them when they fail, but probably wouldn't be able to get to them while they're still warm.
