This is the first one of these I have seen. Customer complaint; will not agitate or spin. They got a deal on it from Lowes because it had been returned and repaired(the transmission had been replaced  they said). From what I can understand, from the tech sheet, there is a flashing l.e.d. on top of the motor flashing 4 times. This is indicating a problem with the mode shift circuit or the mode shift coil.I have power to the motor and the two leads going to the mode shifter coil ohm out to 92.5 ohms. Can someone explain this nightmare to me and where my problem might be. any help would be most appreciated.

IT'S a new g.e. doesn't have a trans, only a clutch assembl;y, try resetting board, unplug washer wait 1 minute open and close lid 4 to 5 times plug back in and try spin cycle, majority of problems with this machine is the basket nut comes loose and it doesn't read revolutions check basket nut also

Markmac is right.

From the GE tech guide:

"To clear errors, disconnect power until an audible clicking sound is heard when the inverter capacitor dischages (approximately 15 seconds).  Open and clos the lid 5 or more times in any 12 second period within the first 30 seconds of power-up.  Errors will not clear if washer is in either the agitate or spin mode.
4 flash error code = Mode shift circuit failed = Check mode shifter coil."

I'd try to clear the errors first and see if that does it.

i have had intermittent connections on these at the inverter board. If it works after resetting i would remove the red and yellow wires from the plug at the inverter and carefully bend  the pins so they will make a tighter contact.
