Frigidaire Affinity Series washers.

Anyone know of a fix for these doors when they start to sag? We have tried almost everything in our shop. New hinges, latches, bending, and  change the fronts!....
Still have problems with doors not meeting the latch.

Do these have any recall, or has Frigidaire at least acknowledged this issue?

No recall that I know of. Are you able to close the door if you lift it a bit? If you post you model number, I may be able to search for a recall notice.

Well it is pretty much every Frigidaire Affinity washer. Next time if you come by one look where the latch (on the door)  meets the "catch" on the body of the machine. It starts with breaking the lower part of the door lock assy., Then so far as to not even line up with the assy, and hanging as far as 1/2"  lower than the lock assy.

One model number is LTF7000ES0. But it is ALLLLLLL Frigidaire Affinity washers that do this. If anyone who has an Affinity washer, check your lock assy. You will see that the bottom of the lock (on the body of the machine) is broken....this is the beginning.

We have heard from other repair shops that it was the fronts....but alas it is not so. Also tried replacing the hinges, latches, lock assy, all to no avail.

Someone in this industry must know of this problem. Anyone? Anyone?
Bueller?

Thanks in advance!

It's those gaint HEAVY doors, and hinges with plastic/nylon insert bushings.

In no time at all the nylon bushings wearout and the door drops and breaks the latch as you see.

Just another one of Frigidaires GREAT PRODUCTS..... NOT!!!!

Hi Willie, thanks for reply. But it just ain't the heavy doors. I/we have constantly checked the bushings and replaced them....still nothing. A few of these will break the bushing holder (small plastic tab) on the top inside of the door. Even with replacement though (replacing the whole outer door), they still won't meet the lock on the machine.
I will agree that it is a horribly designed door/latch/lock on all the Frigidaire Affinity washing machines. I just want to hear that the company knows, and has given us a fix for it.
We here are constantly pulling our hair out over them. We get in over 40 appliances a week to repair, and these darn machines account for approx 10%. Everything else will be ok, with the occasional SCU or MCU replacement, just not the doors. Maybe the front on the machine is getting bent from people leaning on the doors?
It is too high of a percentage to just let this one go.

I seriously wouldn't wish a Frigidaire appliance on my worst enemy.

They are some of the most crappy appliance built now days, besides the G.E. stuff -- it's kind of a toss up.

Well, my washer door just broke off and I'm not happy about it. I got the run around on the service phone line and I can't find a replacement part online. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement door for this stupid washing machine? I refuse to pay the $75 to have someone come out and tell me I need a new door, when I can obviously see it sitting there on the top of my washer.
