Hi,

I have had my W660 for a few years now and tonight it caused the circuit breaker to trip.

Numerous resets and retries have caused the same result.

Initially the washing machine lights come on ok, I can start a cycle and the machine starts filling, but very soon thereafter the breaker trips and all power is lost.

I have checked the trap and nothing is in it.

I would really appreciate help on diagnosing the problem, reading online some people seem to have had similar problems with no agitation being caused by brushes needing to be replaced ? There was no mention of circuit breakers being tripped though.

Any help anyone can provide including a repair manual if one is available would be most appreciated :)

Thanks

Tim

Hi,

Yes I tried different circuits bit it still trips the breaker.

I guess I need to open it up to see if anything is wrong but would appreciate some help on what to look at, likely causes and how to fix it :)

Thanks

Tim

99 percent of the time it wont be the breaker, they are dependable at doing their job. It may be the motor freezing up. Have you checked transmision or something keeping  the motor from turning. It probably trips as the agitation cycle starts. good luck

That doesn't matter. If it was a 110v 6 amp blender or a load that is 18 amps... as long as the breaker and wire are sized correctly for the load it usually isn't going to just start tripping unless there is a problem with the load. That's why i was thinking it may be the motor trying to start up but it isn't being allowed to turn. Especially if this machine had been working fine on this breaker before I suspect it is a problem with the machine. I may be wrong cuz breakers do go bad but in 15 years I've only changed 2 bad breakers. Good luck

True, but he didn't mention how old the breaker was, also he's in Australia.
