Whirlpool washer Model #  LSQ9200LQ0

The washer pumps out the washer but will not spin. I have bypassed the lid switch and tried to spin it by hand while empty but it feels like the brake is not releasing. The motor is running and the silver disk on top of the transmission is turning but not spinning the drum. I have the front off and the agitator out, the drum hub looks fine ( not slipping ).

Great forum.

Thanks for your help.

Check to see if something is stuck between the basket and outer tub.

You may have broken the lever that releases the tension on the basket drive/brake. You'll need to pull the gearcase out to check it.
