Getting F/06 error code, Drive Motor Tachometer Error. I checked the manual which states to check wire harness, check drive motor, check MCU. Checked wire harness from motor to MCU and MCU to CCU. All wires checked out okay. How do I check the drive motor and the MCU. There are no instructions as to how to do this. As the error states it is a tachometer error, shouldn't that be checked also. It is attached to the drive motor. No information as to how to check the tach. All I can figure out at this point is to start changing out components at great expense, until I find out which one(s) is at fault. This is my first problem with this washer and after searching online I am not too optimistic about the outcome. The model # GHW9250 MLO, purchased 8/03. Thanks!!

I have tried something that hopefully will help with this problem. I turned the machine on and set it to Drain/Spin. I put my meter on AC volts and put the black probe to the chassis and the red probe to the number one pin in the connector at the motor. I read about 30 volts. Moved probe to number two pin and read the same. Moved probe to number three and there was my 30 volts again. Checked the tachometer pins and was at 125 on both. During this time the time is flashing. Flashes 30 times and then tries to cycle again. After trying to cycle several times my F/06 error shows up. I also tested the power on the Normal cycle and found 6 volts at pin 1,2,3. I attributed that to slower speeds when the normal wash cycle starts. Any ideas to check the tachometer would be appreciated. Can it be changed out? Or is it an integrated part of the motor assembly? The model # GHW9250 MLO, purchased 8/03. Thank You

Before changing components on this unit I like to remove and reinsert all wire connections at the board and motor. This tends to clean the small mount of corrosion that will build up on the connections. After you do this put the machine into a service cycle. The instructions on this is in the tech sheet ou found inside the unit. Part of the service cycle is running the motor at certain set speeds which checks the tach. Good Luck!

Well we ran the diagnostic and pondered some more and decided to replace the MCU. This has been done and so far the machine runs. Thanks

The wire harness and control boards have been buggy on this machine causing other error codes, too.
