1. Remove leads from capacitor (after disconnecting power) 2. Set meter to ohms 3. Place meter leads across capacitor 4. Observe meter scale. Good capacitor the needle will deflect upward and slowly decend. 5.Open capacitor ,meter needle will fail to move 6. Shorted capacitor, meter needle will raise and stop.
