Hi, I need a gas heat boiler and a gas water boiler soon. Anyone know where I can get it cheap online? I can have a friend to install it together. On the gas heat boiler, it use water to heat up steam. The air valve are constantly spitting water at pressure 23 at boiler. Its over 10 years old. If its cheap, I will replace one. For the water heater, I see some leaking from the inner tank behind the pretty coating. I see some water marks at the base. Thanks!

Is it normal for a steam heater to spit water at 23psi? I just got a new value from a local plumbing supply for $18... Now is it just twist off? How do I let go the pressure? I press the valve, it does nothing...nothing spits out.

23 psi is very high, you need a professional because you are loosing something in the translation.

Telefunkenu, you are too selfish in a forum. Shame on you!!!! Bob, nothing is fishy. For gas heat boiler, both the pressure gauge and pressure valve were broken. Change both and run like a charm.  For over years, the spring inside both pressure gauge and valve got loosed. Pressure gauge stay at 21 when not turn on for 10 hours, so if its at 23, it maybe just 2 lbs over. For the valve, spring lost its tension so spitting water. Water heater, its definitely cracked like explained. I went to local plumbing supplier and bought a new one and replaced it. The pressure control switch on a steam heating boiler is designed to shut the heating system down should unsafe high pressures develop. Residential steam heating systems are almost always designed to operate at very low pressures, perhaps around .5 psi - that' s 1/2 of one psi. You should see similar settings on the pressure gauge and on the steam pressure control switch on your boiler. This is an industry standard, no matter what fuel you use to heat (Gas, oil, wood, coal, solar)
