| is the fridge on the outlet side of a reverse osmosis or plugged inline water filter? r/o filters drop the water pressure enough in some cases that the water valve will not allow water to pass

reverse osmosis is a fancy water purification filter, usually under the sink(same place fridge water comes from quite often) or the r/o filter could be in the basement as well
trace fridge water line back to main water source and make sure there are no filters, if there are bypass said filter if possible
also very low water pressures from houses that have wells or extremely high water pressures(only ever seen this once in a high rise 1 floor above their second booster pump) will cause valves to not open

Take one of your ac cords that have an icemaker connector on it, plug that onto the icemaker valve for 5 seconds, and see if the maker fills up with water that way. Sometimes the fill spout in the freezer will freeze up and not allow water to enter the maker. Good luck.

I always start with the simplest, and check the supply line tap. I've seen this numerous times were deposits block flow.

especially if they're using a "self-tapping" saddle valve.
Better to use the type that needs to have the tap hole drilled...

I agree with Reg. But if you do run into one of those, you can pull the needle part out of the "T" and snap it off with your pliers. I've found that this sometimes allows more flow.
