I have a Samsung side by side refrigerator model number RS2555SW. The serial number is 43CTB00027W. The ice becomes a big block in the icemaker. The ice maker mechanism has been replaced twice under warranty by Maytag. The problem is the same. I suspect that water is getting into the ice bin. Obviously, replacing the icemaker mechanism does not solve the problem. Does anyone have an answer? I tried programing the icemaker water fill time, but this has not solved the problem.

Different from your earlier post, seems like the rotating tray was hitting the water full tube and spraying water all over the freezer?? Wonder if cutting off the end of the water tube a little would keep the tray from moving the fill spout..

Was your tray already filled with ice? My understanding is that if the ice cannot be dumped from the try, it will stay there and on the next fill, it will overflow into your ice bin causing the rock hard block of ice. Treat the tray in vinegar solution as a previous posted did and that might take care of it. Someone else had said to replace the tray. I'm trying to find out how to just get the darned thing outta there!! Take care, Chris Barbot

I finally got rid of the Samsung Refrig. I tried everything to correct the block of ice problem. Best Buy gave me credit for the Samsung torward another refrigerator. The pros could not fix the Samsung. In response to your question----There was no ice residue in the tray. I believe the water was splashing off the tray onto the ice bin below. Another issue is that the water hose rubs against the tray as it rotates. And that may cause water to fall from the hose directly into the bin. Thanks for the reply.

Do you know of any manuals on this that I can get my hands on? I got my tray out and it looked great. After clearing the ice, I remounted it into the machine and set it to run. Same problem! After closer inspection, the tray is filling up, freezing and then it goes to dump. It rotates the tray just over 90 degrees ... perhaps 120 - 135 degrees ... really does nothing, and then comes back to upright in order to refill. When the ice hasn't dumped, I get the water all over the place! Is that all the further that the tray should be rotating or should it make a full revolution? Something does not appear to be working as it should and I have a feeling that I just need to narrow it down. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that it means buying some new parts and pieces but I'd rather do that than to have to buy a new one. Anyone have any thoughts on this?? Thanks... Chris Barbot

Actually, I have to add something else. When the tray gets rotated ~125 degrees, the tray pivot point on the back side of the tray pops out of place. I can pop it back into the holder or mount point but on the next rotation, it just pops back out.
