Not sure if this is for your exact model, but sure describes your problem. Call Whirlpool tomorrow with your model and serial numbers and see if this is correct for your dishwasher. Pegi THIS SERVICE POINTER APPLIES TO THE FOLLOWING BRANDS: DISHWASHERS WITH ELECTRONIC CONTROL Models: KUD01, DU640XT, DUL300XT, GU1100XT, GU1200XT, GU1500XT, GU2300XT Serial Code Range: FK28 – FM04 STOPS IN MID-CYCLE, INDICATOR LIGHTS BLINKING Dishwasher will stop in mid-cycle and will not advance. One or more of the cycle, option and status indicator lights will blink. K8178151 January 2002 CONDITION: CAUSE: RESOLUTION: The electronic control is reacting to higher than normal line voltage, (over 125 volts), and higher than normal line signal distortion that exists in some parts of the country. A revised electronic control, part #8530909, is available to better handle high voltage conditions. The current stock of replacement electronic controls has been reworked, to supplement production controls being produced. Modified controls will have a label, “REWORKED HI-LINE” to identify them as reworked controls and are approved as service replacements. NOTE: If the line voltage is normal and a single Cycle,Option or Rinse Only light is blinking, the cause is usually a stuck or shorted keypad on the active overlay, not the control. A resistance check of the active overlay should always be made, using the keypad matrix in the product tech sheet, prior to replacing the electronic control.

You'd use your ohm meter and the wiring diagram to check the resistance of each and every little led in the matrix.
