I am wiring both a 30" GE wall oven (ZET938SFSS) and a 36" Wolf Dual Fuel electric oven (DF364C) to a single 50-amp branch circuit. (1) Code says it's OK, I'm tapping a #6 using #10 (30A) for each oven - comments? (2) The house was built in '58 and the existing #6 branch circuit I'd like to tap has 2 hot leads and an unsheathed aluminum common. If I use Al-Cu wire nuts is this OK, or should I replace the branch wire with new #6 Cu wire?

What code says this is ok? Not the NEC-- #10 is too small for a range, the minimum gage is #8 for a 40 amp circuit. More information here.

Copper wire is always preferable to aluminum so, if you have a choice, go copper.
