Hello.... and HELP.....

I have an Amana glass top self clean stove / range...
We started to do the auto clean & as soon as it started to count down the clean time, the "timer" went away, it went back to showing just the clock & the lock light was flashing. The oven wont clean & the door wont unlock.

Every time I try to start the cleaning cycle I end up with the same above result & can not get the door to unlock at all. I have tried unplugging stove & plugging back in hoping for a reset. Also I have tried every kind of button combo "pressing" i could think of.

I tried going to Amana's website to download a manual for this range & the web site tells me the model number I have is incorrect (even thought it is exactly what is on the tag).

The model # I have is ARTC7511WW (I have double checked & this is definitely the model # listed)

Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated....

Thank you
George

Try to do a quick diagnostic test of the ERC. See the attachment.

If the latch motor is fried, then you'll have to disassemble the range enough to manually unlock the door.

sorry for the double post, but it would not let me edit my previous post...

when I pressed COOK TIME when in diagnostic mode, it displayed 008 then a dash and in the area the temperature normally is showed a 063 (and then switched to a 062)

when I press stop time it displays 0218 - 02

Sounds like you're somehow jumping to the one of the diagnostic steps immediately after you enter diagnostic mode. Re-check your procedure, I don't think you're entering diagnostic mode correctly.

i am entering diagnostic mode by unplugging the stove, plugging it back in & then pressing & holding "cook time" for 5 seconds.

The display then shows a line of dashes. It does nothing else.

I thought I was suppose to press the buttons on the control pad to get certain responses. That is what i did and reported in my previous posts.

Is there something else i am suppose to be doing when it is in diagnostic mode?

No, if you're certain you're entering the key sequence correctly and the board won't go into diagnostic mode, then it's bad by definition.
