Due to your thermostat not sensing the temperature the compressor overheated, cut the power off and let it sit for about 4 hours to let the compressor cool down then start it up again and check temperature in freezer, 10 degrees or lower, if you get that then unplug unit . order and replace temperture control which you can get here PDQ

Let it run for aleast an hour without opening the door and your thermometer as close to the fan in the freezer as possible, temperature in freeze should read at least 10 degrees.
