I have this same model of dishwasher (KUDS24SEWH1). It was given to me by a friend when he replaced his with a new one. The serial number on the unit is FF4121228 if that helps with anything (i.e. year of manufacture, etc.). This appears to be a better unit than my old one, so I'm in the process of installing it but have run into a number of problems that have begged several questions.
The first question that came up was, where do I connect the water supply. There is no where to connect a water supply to. Upon further examination, I noticed that there is a black hose/tube, that has been cut. The other end of this hose is connected to the "water inlet assy" (according to the diagram I looked up on line), on the left side of the unit.
I looked all over the unit, especially on the underside of the machine for anything that looks like a place to connect a supply line and there is nothing. Having referred to the "Fill and Overfill Parts" drawing I found on the internet, the hose in question (referred to above) is supposed to connect to the "Fill Valve Assy". Guess what? There is no "Fill Valve Assembly", that piece is gone! Which goes a long way to explaining why I can't figure out where to connect the supply line. This could also explain the mysterious connector that is not attached to anything, that I couldn't figure out where it is supposed to go. It is a flat, white plastic connector with two wires coming out of it, and I think the wires might be orange in color (but can't be sure about that). Could it be this connector that I found just dangling under the dishwasher, not connected to anything, is supposed to go to the "Fill Valve Assembly"? There is also something in the drawing called a "Stand Pipe Overfill". This is an assembly. I don't know if this is physically there as well, I'll have to look for it when I get home. Evidently, when the guy came to install my friends new dishwasher, when he took this one out, there were some parts on it that he wanted and helped himself to. Which means these used parts, that I now have to replace, have probably been installed on some poor unsuspecting victim's dishwasher as new parts, and paid for as new parts. If anyone needs a reason to do your own maintenance, here's a GOOD one.
So, now I want to order the missing parts and put the machine back togethtr, but I have two problems.
1) I do not know where, under the machine, the fill valve assembly mounts. An exploded diagram of the unit itself, illustrating where this assembly mounts, would be a big help. Also, I don't know if I'm missing the overfill standpipe and/or if its all there and serviceable.
2) I don't know what I don't know. What else is/could be missing. Again, I defer to the exploded diagram that would be so helpful in doing a quick visual inventory to see anything else obvious is missing. I'm wondering about this, because until I found the diagram today, showing the fill valve assembly, I assumed the water supply connected directly to the mysterious black hose that had been cut. I would have hooked it, bypassing the missing fill valve assembly.
Maybe this is more trouble than its worth and I should just put the old one back in, but its so small inside you can barely put a plate in the bottom rack without it hitting the spray arm. I need help.
