Hi , first thank you for a VERY informative board

Maytag MSD 2758 DRW  Refrigerator

I take from searching the adaptive defrost control board is a regular offender.

Refrigerator is running all the time and getting warmer and warmer and ice is on the freezer back wall.

Following other posts .

I have power at L1-L2

I show 21-22.6 ohms  at the white/black  and the yellow . Shows heater is intact?

I jumped the test terminal and heard a single "click" from the relay as it pulled in and stayed in. Clean click, no ratcheting or anything.

But no voltage at the the  white/black and yellow

So do I need the board or are there other checks I should be doing first?

Am I on the right track ?

Can the heater be manually jumped , as in hooking  L1 and L2 to the  white/black and yellow?

If so which to which?

Thanks again for any help and a great board.

Gerry

Good job so far. Your test white/BK to Yellow shows the heater to be good.  The fact that your defrost board went into defrost indicates you defrost limiter is closed as well on this model (if it was open, when you did your jump it would of gone into defrost for a second they jumped right back into cooling mode). Just replace your board, remove the back wall of the freezer and melt the ice on the evaporator coil with a hair dryer. This way you are assured to melt it all. Plug the drain hole, put a towel in the freezer floor, get in a comfortable position and start melting.
