What is the masters opinion on generic parts - you know - things like drive belts, evaporator fans, thermostats, hi limit switches , solenoids? Any generics to definitely avoid? Last edited on Fri Apr 1st, 2005 06:44 pm by edwardh1 |

Most of the generic parts are repackaged OEM parts, I have had as many problems with OEM as Generic.

I guarantee all my work for 1 year, part and labor. It's just not worth taking a chance on warranty callbacks because I saved a couple bucks on the part. Plus, OEM parts have a one year warranty so I just send 'em back to AP Wagner (which isn't very often). I'll confess that I have cheated on a couple dryer jobs and used generic thermal fuses. Same guarantee, though, so it's my ayss if'n it breaks during warranty.
